This and That

Today is church cleaning day. Those of you having church in your house or if you live in the parsonage attached to the church you know how this goes. Try to find (or hide) a place for everything. I laugh at the kids though, they love cleaning the sanctuary. They vacuum the entire floor, polish the pews, make sure all of the books are facing the same way and that each holder has one of each song book. They have a great time, BUT when it comes to the "house" part they suddenly are like.....no speakee cleany. (did that make sense) THey whine and complain. They pass the buck, mom I told Grady to do that, why didn't you do that Grady? Once they start, sometimes they become overachievers. "Hey mom, help me move this wardrobe so I can dust behind it." Ok maybe not that extreme but they suddenly clean the most unusual things. Stuff, I overlook.(Yikes, does that reflect bad on me.) The boys idea of cleaning is get the big trucks out to move stuff. Do you know, it takes a long time for them to clean a room when the trucks come out. THey must be getting paid by the mile and hour! I better check with the union on that....lol. So here I sit on the floor, blogging thinking I better get back to this room. I will, soon enough I guess. Blogging has become theraputic.

Please keep my family in prayer. Rebekah was vomitting last night, Daryl feels puny as well. Colton acted sick but never vomitted. Brett and Grady have already been thru it. I am trying to run from it. My throat feels odd, but it has for some time. I still have my tonsils and so it could be they are catching all those nasty bugs. The devil makes me think worse, 2 years ago I had a scope done, I have battled GERD for a long time and they wanted to make sure the acids hadn't destroyed my esophogus. While in there they stretched my esophogus....ever since then I have moments like now when it is weird to swallow. OK, that may have been too much info.....ya think. I guess what we need is prayer.

Well, this has been an interesting blog thus far. My mom and dad are supposed to be here Mon. depending on the snow situation and how my dad feels. He was told Fri. that he has pneumonia....they said he was contagious the first 48 hours but should be fine after that. I guess if he feels up to coming to the frigid north they will come. I have been gathering recipes for him because he has celiac disease. A nasty disease where you can't have, breathe touch anything with gluten in it. Cross contamination is the kicker.

I am going to sign off for now. HOpe I didn't bore y'all. God bless those who follow Him.

Listen to this program

If you have a chance, listen to the program from today on crosstalkamerica.com. It is very interesting where the world is going, it makes my heart break. So many are going through life so deceived. It is scary. We need to pray, pray, pray. I know things will get worse and worse. This is all Bible prophecy being fulfilled before our eyes. Seriously, take a break and listen to the program. Well TTFN.

Merry CHRISTmas

How is everyone doing out there? Are you staying warm? We are trying to stay warm, the sun is shining as it continues to snow. I still like snow though. I was talking to Sis. Krista a couple days ago and she said it was 74 in Andrews. I like 74 but I also like when winter is winter. Blame all those warmer Pueblo winters for ruining me....I actually enjoy 4 seasons.
If I don't blog much through the holidays I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas. May the love of our dear Lord warm your heart and may you embrace Him throughout the new year. Can you believe 2009 is knocking on our front door? The Bible refers to time seeming to fly by (I am paraphrasing of course). God Bless those of you that are serving Him. We will see you here, there or in the air!

Ugh, mistakes, mistakes

Great, I made yet another mistake. I was thrilled I finished my Christmas letter, I was excited to get them out to about 15 unsuspecting people. Tonight, Sis. Janis brought me my letter and showed me where I miswrote the zip at the bottom of the stationary. So those of you who may have received this, flip the first 2 numbers on the zip. Now that is only one mistake you say, ha! You have no idea, first I had one thing written but Daryl said, maybe I should reword it because of one particular issue. Sis. Janis agreed. Then I decided to do a photo card of the kids. That was a joy to take, right Sis. Janis. Have you ever tried to get an ornery 2 year old and 4 year old to cooperate. We had a calf rope involved.....oh boy. You will understand when you see the card. I have also experienced older children who cannot smile in a non-cheesy way. Any one else have that?
Well, I need to get to bed. I have one child sick, Daryl is starting to feel bad and I am going on little sleep. Y'all have a great day.....Stay warm to those fighting the cold. It is quite chilly here but we finally have snow on the ground. Praise the Lord for shelter and heat.

Too Many Late Nights!!!!!

When is the time most moms can get something done? When the rugrats have gone to bed. I want to get my cards done and this seems to be the only time. I just thought I would stop long enough to see if there was anything new on the blog scene. This also gives me a moment to unwind....strange how theraputic blogging can be. I couldn't keep a written journal because my hands cramp but this typing thing works.
Sis. Janis was over this evening. We usually eat supper together on Thurs. then call into the Aurora church to have service with them. We suspected they may not have service but we called in anyway. No answer bummer. Before seven we baked Christmas cookies that we will decorate with the seniors tomorrow. This is a fun activity. Last year my boys got there pic in the paper with one of the "grandmas" it was great.
Saturday we are participating in a parade of museums. We are starting at Wyman's museum at 8 am. We will board a bus and go to the museum in Steamboat. They are serving brunch there. Then we will go to the museum in Hayden, on to the "gunfighter" museum in Craig for home made chick noodle soup. Then back to Wymans where there will be sleigh rides and crafts for the kids. I am so excited, I hope the weather holds. So far it has been almost Pueblo like, chilly with little snow. Weird for Craig.
I suppose as tomorrow approaches I should sign off. Later Tater: )

Half a moment.....MAYBE

Let's see if I can write between calls for mom and "He hit me!" Some (all?) mornings just are chaos, but as I titled it, God gives me that peace we all need amongst that chaos. Profound, don't you think:) I am glad some of y'all are finding me....this seems the only way to visit without jumping in the car. Are all of you done with your Christmas cards? I am still reeling that Christmas is in .....15 days. I have to print my "letter" and address all those envelopes and mail them and sigh.... This week seems crazy, today is piano lessons for Bekah, I want to drop some stuff off for the local Christmas drive on our way there, we need to get school done and on Friday we are decorating cookies with the seniors at Sunset Meadows. They (the homeschool group) has put me in charge of one of the buildings (there are 2). Me in charge, do you all know me? Some do, right Michele. I am not a great organizer, I attempt organized chaos but that's the best I do. Well, I need to see if spelling is getting done. Do you remember those days, write your words 5 times each one day, we do some fun things with spelling to but this is that boring day. No shaving cream spelling today, nor sailboat or rainbow. This is a dreaded assignment.
Well, I will catch y'all on the flip side....

First Sunday Fellowship

Good Sunday Evening to you all. We have had a very good day. We had service this morning and then Bro. Gerald and Sis. Janis stayed and visited. We had hoped to go visit Bro. BJ from Arkansas up in Baggs but his employer told them they would be working. He is here working temporarily and can't wait to get back to his family in Arkansas. We have enjoyed his visits when he has been able to come. Since we didn't go to Baggs, we had the delima of lunch. I originally was going to make stir fry but Sis. Janis and I waited impatiently for the guys to tell us what we were doing. Daryl didn't want to go anywhere so we kept asking what they wanted to eat, stir fry would take a while. Bro. Gerald said he wanted burritoes, so we ran to the store to get refrieds and burger. I made gringo green chili which turned out good after some added spices. That is a great recipe that my family has made for years. We got it out of a cook book put out by a church in Pueblo. That is a great cook book. It has great mexican, italian and "bo-john" recipes. We got a great pic of Daryl and Bro. Gerald helping cook. I may try to post it. ok can't figure that out. Maybe Sis. Janis can post it.
After lunch we looked out the window and there was a lady with a percheron and wagon. We went to the door and she was at the stop sign. She asked if we wanted a ride, we were so excited. Sis. Janis, Hannah, Rebekah, Colton, Grady and I got to ride. The guys stayed here and watched Brett. It was so much fun. It turned out we knew the lady, she taught a ceramics class for our homeschool co-op. We got pics of this too, I am so technilogically backwards.
After we got back we chatted and gave the horse, Dan, a treat. He was so huge compared to my old quarter horse. I was always used to a horse that wasn't much more than 15 hands. He was well over 17. He was awesome.
Sis. Janis ran to her house later to let buddy out and then went to get the guys dessert. Good ol' ice cream. We had service at 7:00 which was my service (VLB) Afterward , we took pics in front of the Christmas tree.
Ok I have yakked too much. Good night all, see ya' here, there or in the air

Why doesn't 'G' mean good

Hey blogger fam. Or at least hey Tammy and Janis. Are you wondering about my title? Well, I recently purchased the movie The 12 Dogs of Christmas thinking hey this will be a good one for the whole family. It is pretty good except for one seductive "aunt" and what was implied. For one, she needs to cover up and two, isn't this a kid show. What value did this add to the movie? I know, some think we are over the top strict but why should we subject ourselves voluntarily to some things. It is bad enough to go out in public and see the world but this was supposed to be a G movie. It seems the devil just sneaks junk in because as I said this was a cute show aside from that part. I had Sis. Janis and Hannah over to watch it and fast forwarded that part.

It seems lately we have been having more and more encounters with situations that want us to compromise our standards. We recently experienced one. What is hard is this was a person who was a member of The Church, one who knows where we stand.

Ok enough venting, I want to say I heard some very exciting news today. You know who you are, we are so excited for you:) We had a pretty good day but boy it was chilly. I like snow but I don't like bitter cold. We would have stayed at the house but we met with our homeschool co-op. We were making cards to send recovering soldiers at Walter Reed Med. Center. If any of you want to do the same, I have the address just let me know. Since it is in the states, we don't have to worry about getting it off yesterday. I think this is a great opportunity to support our soldiers who still want to protect our country. Just drop a line to say thanks and we are thinking of you this Christmas.

Please be praying for a great-aunt of mine who is going through some bad health issues. Also, her ex-husband has some serious health issues as well.

I hope this finds you all well, and with that I will sign off. We will see you here, there or in the air.

Yeah Snow!!!!!!!

If you can't tell, it snowed. I love snow. I know, I know, many are saying but it's cold and slick and ick! I like it, I can't help it I just do. If it is going to be cold, I want snow with it not just cold. The kids are very distracted by this wonder. They want to play not do school. I understand that but priorities. I want to play to but there are things to do. I need to start laundry because it's laundry day. I just looked at the clock. 12:00 and I haven't started yet....Yikes. I was on my other blog for a bit, it's a home schooling blog which is cool. All homeschoolers, parents and kids. It has been interesting to view these people who have similar struggles and successes. If you are interested, my blog over there is www.homeschoolblogger.com/peaceinchaos visit sometime. As some know, my blogging may become infrequent when my one month trial of internet is over. I may have to bug sis. janis to get online. Do you think she will let me.......free of charge?
Sis. Janis says I need to tell someone of my blog, so don't be surprised if I leave you a message.
I better get to check my studies (tongue in cheek) youngins. TATAFORNOW

yakin' at no one

Do you ever feel that you are talking to no one? I know, if any of you ever read this you will say, we didn't know you had a blog. I'm sorry I just was spontaneous one day and said hey, this could be fun. Oh well, Sis Janis and I were talking. She may be my only follower. Bad thing is, I see her alot. She already knows what I'm doing.

Daryl has had a couple days off to work on the "parsonage." He hung paneling today and finished our closet. It is great to hang clothes on something.

We are supposed to get snow. I would like it to snow and stay. Unfortunately, last year when it started snowing and staying, it stayed until June. I lie you not, we were heading to convention and it was snowing. We were the only ones down there with our winter coats.

Well, I hear the pitter patter of little feet way past their bedtime, I suppose I should set an example and go to bed myself. Y'all take care.
